Preparations and Suggestions to Solve the Pro Se Puzzle
Tuesday, April 1, 2025 | 1 p.m. Eastern
The panel will seek to demystify the pro se puzzle, examining approaches to dealing with pro se litigants from the court’s perspective and discussing ways that attorneys can effectively and (cost) efficiently litigate with/against pro se parties. Considerations include not only legal questions, procedural issues, and questions of perceived access to justice but how to find a balance between providing for the required “leeway” for pro se parties without overly or unduly burdening others in cases.
Daryl J. Smith, Esq., Chapter 13 Trustee in Western Louisiana, will moderate a panel featuring Hon. Elizabeth Gunn (DDC), Hon. Selene Maddox (NDMS), Hon. Sheri Bluebond (CDCA), and Elise Kanter, Esq., Pro-Se Law Clerk (EDNY).
