Hon. Paul Hage
Judge Hage received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 2003, a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2006, and LL.M. in Bankruptcy Law from St. John’s University School of Law in 2007. Prior to starting practice, Judge Hage interned for the Hon. Elizabeth S. Stong (EDNY) and the Hon. George Caram Steeh (EDMI).
Judge Hage worked in private practice at Taft, Stettinius, & Hollister, LLP (Taft Law) specializing in representing debtors, creditors’ committees, secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, and asset purchasers in insolvency proceedings nationwide. While working at Taft Law, Judge Hage was Co-chair of the Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Group.
Judge Hage is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and is also certified by the American Board of Certification as a specialist in business bankruptcy law. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan Law School and served on the Mediation Panel for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Additionally, Judge Hage, since 2017, has served as Co-Director of the Conrad B. Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. In addition to his many accomplishments, memberships, and awards, Judge Hage has written numerous books and professional journal articles on bankruptcy law throughout his career.
