Judge Tiffany Strelow Cobb was appointed on August 20, 2025, by the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit as a United

States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Ohio. Judge Cobb filled the position vacated created by Judge John E. Hoffman, Jr. upon his retirement.

Prior to her appointment, Judge Cobb was a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a co-chair of the firm’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice group. She represented unsecured creditors, secured creditors, trustees, creditors’ committees, critical vendors, executory contract counterparties, landlords, and other parties in interest in chapter 11 reorganization cases, chapter 7 cases and in related litigation on a national basis and has acted as co-counsel on an international basis.

Judge Cobb is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. She was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America (including the 2024 “Lawyer of the Year” in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law) and was also ranked by Chambers and Partners. Judge Cobb is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and served as a co chair of the ABI Midwest Regional Bankruptcy Conference for two years. She also filled leadership roles on her Court’s Attorney Advisory Committee and Mediation Project Committee.

Judge Cobb graduated with highest honors from The Principia College, obtaining a B.A. in English. She then earned her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. In private practice, Judge Cobb later completed the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Mediating the Litigated Case.
