New Judge Appointed to Delaware Bankruptcy Court
Thomas M. Horan was sworn in as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Delaware on March 22. Judge Horan fills the seat vacated by former Judge Christopher S. Sontchi upon his retirement in 2022. This brings the court’s complement of judges up to eight.
Prior to his appointment, Judge Horan practiced in Wilmington, DE, for 18 years. Most recently, he was a member in the Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring Group at Cozen O’Connor. Throughout his career, Judge Horan represented debtors, creditors, official committees and other interested parties in chapter 11 areas.
Judge Horan is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute, where he formerly served as Vice President, Communications and Information Technology. He is also a member of the Delaware Bankruptcy Inn of Court.
