Hon. Nancy B. King
A Native Nashvillian, Nancy King is a graduate of Harpeth Hall School, Rhodes College, and the University of Memphis. She graduated in the top of her law school class and was the Comments Editor on the Board of the Law Review. Immediately after graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Hewitt P. Tomlin on the Tennessee Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining EmergeLaw in 2019, Nancy served for 25 years as a career law clerk for two Nashville Bankruptcy Judges, Hon. George C. Paine, II (retired) and Hon. Randal S. Mashburn. During her years in private practice, she has guided dozens of business clients through out-of-court workouts and Chapter 11 restructurings, often utilizing Subchapter V, the streamlined form of Chapter 11 created by Congress in 2019 and expanded in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to utilizing Subchapter V to restructure overleveraged small businesses, Nancy has written and spoken extensively on the new law.
